CCA COMMUNITY HISTORY EXHIBIT AT MAC
A Feeling of Community: Segregation and Education on Cape Island, 1860-1954,” an exhibit exploring Cape May’s African American history with a focus on education, will be on display January 14 – May 14, 2006 in the Carriage House Gallery at the Emlen Physick Estate, 1048 Washington Street, Cape May.
The exhibit is based on research, oral histories, artifacts and documents collected by the Center for Community Arts (CCA) Community History Program, and presented in collaboration with the Mid-Atlantic Center for the Arts (MAC).
The public is invited to an opening reception on Monday, January 16, 2006 at 4:00 p.m. at the Gallery.
The Gallery is fully accessible to wheelchairs. This exhibit is funded in part by Sturdy Savings Bank. CCA and MAC receive operating support grants from the New Jersey Historical Commission, a division of the Department of State. RSVP for the reception by calling MAC at 884-5404.
