PROGRAM UPDATES
YAP, our free youth arts program, for students in grades 5, 6, 7 & 8 will resume on Saturday, January 7, 2006.
There is no program on the 14th, because we have Dr. Martin Luther King Jr’s Birthday Party Pot-luck supper at 6pm on Sunday the 15th. This event is open to the public and takes place at Cape May City Elementary School, 921 Lafayette Street.
YAP will take a day trip to the Newark Museum on January 21.
After that it’s back to Saturday nights, in Cape May, Lower Township and Wildwood. For a detailed schedule please leave your name, address and phone number, and specify Cape May, Lower Township or Wildwood.
Art at the Library, for ages 6-10, at the Cape May City Public Library from 7-8 pm, resumes January 5, 2006.
Our intergenerational dance and stretch class is on hiatus for a holiday break.
Our free intergenerational poetry workshop usually meets Wednesday evenings at our office, 712 Lafayette Street, from 6-8 pm. The weeks of December 21 and 28, it will not meet. Next meeting is Wed. Jan. 4, 2006.
Our African American Heritage Walking Tour is by appointment only until the spring.
Center for Community Arts
Cape May, New Jersey's Center for Community Arts (CCA) is transforming the Franklin Street School into a community cultural center. CCA creates arts programs for youth and adults, community history programs, exhibits and tours celebrating Cape May's African American heritage, and community outreach events, such as Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.'s Birthday Party, and Hotel and Guest Night, the Cape May Talent Sampler (8/27/07).
