CCA’S HARVEST FAIR PROMISES FUN FOR THE WHOLE FAMILY

The Center for Community Arts (CCA) Harvest Fair returns to Rea’s Farm from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 16 (rain date: Sept. 17). The Fair is fun for the entire family, and offers antique, art, craft and food vendors galore, farm-grown produce and plants, and a wide array of kids’ games and activities.

New this year are: Kid-Oke (ala Karaoke) with Terry O’Brien (1:30-3:00), a Celebrity Dunk Tank, Pie Eating Contest, Mural Painting, Tomato Toss, and Face Painting.

The Fair will again include pony, kiddie train and hay rides around the Rea’s farm fields, watermelon eating and grape spitting contests and games for kids with prizes. Admission is free. The farm is at Bayshore Rd. and Stevens St. in West Cape May.

Lunch and supper vendors include Caribbean Jerk Chicken, JB’s Barbeque, Dawn’s Delights (baked goods, sandwiches and pies), Rosie’s Lemonade, and the Smoothie Chicks. In addition, the Center for Community Arts Youth Arts Program and Boy Scout Troop 84 will be serving hot dogs, hamburgers and corn on the cob.

There is plenty of free parking, and a *free* trolley service between the Fair and the Washington Street Mall, departing the Mall at noon, 2:00, 4:00 and 5:30 p.m.

Your picnic supper will be accompanied by the live music of Black & Tan from 4-6.

Begin your holiday shopping early! The Fair’s vendors will be selling antiques and collectibles, arts and fine crafts, clothing and flea market items, along with CCA’s own large “yard” sale.

Proceeds from the Fair will benefit CCA’s arts and cultural programs, including the Youth Arts Program, the Community History Program and the Franklin Street School Rehabilitation Project. CCA is celebrating eleven years of community building through the arts and humanities.

CCA will provide nonprofit organizations with free space for an information table, and vendors can still register for a selling space. For more information about the Fair or the Center’s programs, call 884-7525 or visit CCA’s website at www.CenterforCommunityArts.org.

CCA’s Harvest Country Fair is an event of the Cape May Food and Wine Festival, sponsored by the Mid-Atlantic Center for the Arts (MAC). For further information about the Food & Wine Festival, call MAC at 884-5404 or see http://www.capemaymac.org/.
