FREE SATURDAY NIGHT YOUTH ARTS PROGRAM IN LOWER TWP
Center for Community Arts announces YAP-Saturday Night in Lower Township at the Millman Center, 290 Bayshore Road, Villas. Beginning with five spring Saturday nights, this is the third site for the popular Youth Arts Program, which provides free art workshops and pizza for youths in grades 5, 6, 7 and 8. The program is 6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. on Saturdays April 23, May 7, May 21, June 4 and June 11. The program will break for the summer and resume in September. YAP in Lower Township is supported by Lower Cape Alliance and will be taught by local artist Cheryl Crews.
Using the theme of “Communicate with YAP,” spring program participants will explore various artistic media that are used to communicate, such as bookmaking, storytelling, shadow puppets, calligraphy and Runes.
YAP is free, but parents must sign a permission slip in person the first time the youth attends.
Spring YAP art works will be exhibited at an exhibit in the fall, along with summer YAP camp art works. YAP participants will also be invited to participate in the county-wide Youth Arts Fair at the Richard M. Teitelman School on Saturday, May 14.
PLEASE JOIN US FOR ONE OR ALL FIVE FUN EVENINGS OF CREATIVITY. PARENTS ARE WELCOME TO STAY AND HELP AS VOLUNTEERS.
