April 10
11 am – 2 pm at Cape May Elementary School. The Youth Arts Program (YAP) kids from Lower Township, Wildwood and Cape May YAP exhibit and celebrate the artwork produced during the winter / spring arts program. Scholarships are presented for summer art study.
April 11
6 pm. Cape May Stage's Robert Shackleton Playhouse will host the SHORE Grand Slam. This event will be one of the most memorable Shore Slams of the entire year and will feature past SHORE Slam winners to compete head to head to see who the best is.
April 13
8 pm The Cape May Film Society in conjunction with Center for Community Arts presents a one night only event. Tuesday, April 13th at 8:00 pm the Cape May Stage will be showing the film The Crab, The Crocodile, and Love in Cuba. This event will be at the Cape May Stage Center on Bank and Lafayette Street. This film delivers an inside track to Cuba through the art of Jose Fuster.
April 17
11am to 1 pm The Cape May Jazz Festival in collaboration with the Center for Community Arts conducts a family program of music workshops for guitar featuring Monnette Sudler, saxophone featuring Michael Pedicin and percussion jam / drum circle featuring Mark Jacopec (drums provided). No musical experience is required. May bring your own instruments. FREE.
April 18
Center for Community Arts will be hosting new spring jewelry designs from Silpada Jewelry. This event will be hosted by Kann Rossi Gleason. From the total amount sold, 20% of the proceeds will go towards the support of CCA. Light refreshments will also be served. Starts at 2:00 pm and lasts ‘til 5:00 pm.
April 19
Photographic Exhibit of Cape May County African American Jazz & Blues Musicians. Reception at West Cape May Borough Hall. For exhibit Hours and information call 884-7525.
June 26
6 – 9 pm A fundraiser to benefit the Center for Community Arts is to be held at the Whaler’s Cottage – at the Clemens’ beautifully restored country cottages, 1017-1019 Batt’s Lane, Lower Township.
June 29
Cape May & Lower Township Summer Art Camp for children ages 10 – 14. 6 weekly sessions; 5 days per week from 6/29 – 8/21, 9 am - noon. Registration is limited to 20 students on a first come first serve basis. Cape May $90/week, $325/4 weeks. Lower Township FREE to residents. All material & snacks are included.
June 29
Cape May Kids Art Camp for children ages 5 – 9. Week-long projects Monday – Friday, 9 am – noon, June 28th – August 20th. There will be a new theme each week. $90/week, $325/4 weeks. All material & snacks are included.
